Faith Chapel North Church Of God In Christ had its humble beginnings at 1041 East Avenue J in Lancaster. On September 6, 1997, Pastor D.K. Jackson along with his family and 18 members established this church under the leadership of Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Roy Dixon, of the Southern California Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Churches Of God In Christ.
Faith Chapel North has been blessed with many who served, loved and groomed our church family. We’ve had seven elders who stood in the gap to serve as Assistant Pastor: Elder Marshall Coleman, Elder Darrell Downs, Elder Darrell Dorris, Elder Michael Richardson, Elder Lawrence King, Elder Samuel McNutt, Sr. and Elder Glenn Gilliard. In addition, Mother Larvetta Sayles, Mother Eva King, and the late Mother Geraldine Cromwell all faithfully served as church mothers.
We have witnessed may great changes since 1997. In June of 2003, our sister church, Temple of Deliverance Church, under the direction of Pastor Darrell Dorris was established and ordained out of Faith Chapel North. Today he serves as a Superintendent in our own Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Southern California.
The first building the church occupied was a 2,100 square foot space in a strip mall. There was room enough to have one small classroom, one small office, and the sanctuary. On June 4, 2004 we had our first service here on our 4.8 acre site that houses 300 seats in our 7,000 square foot building. At that time, there were over 480 members on the roster and additional room served us well.
On September 13, 2004 following the retirement of Elder D.K. Jackson, Elder Michael X. Richardson (then Assistant Pastor) was installed as the Pastor of Faith Chapel North and his appointment to Superintendent of the High Desert District followed on July 24, 2005.
